Black Male Privilege

Curious as to what people think about this idea. The intersections of race and gender are always complicated as are the politics of respectability and the history of sexual violence. Does this make sense to folks? Is there such a thing as Black Male Privilege? If so, is Dr. Lewis defining it correctly?

"World's First Legally Genderless Person"

This is very exciting.

I found the article while I was looking at pictures of an island sized yacht on the Huffington post (yeah, i know, I know)

but this is a big deal! Norrie May-Welby is legally recognized as existing but May-Welby's existence is not predicated by gender (legally, I mean). "World's First" is without-a-doubt inaccurate as we know of cultures world wide that put a lot less emphasis on gender than "we" in Western Judeo-Christian dominance do now, but this is thrilling in our paradigm.

Not a fan of the language in the huffington post article (HUGE surprise) but here it is.

In France legislation has been put forward to make retouching images ( i think specifically in magazines) illegal. There is no doubt retouching has negative effects on every one. This video goes a little bit into just HOW Much and HOW many images are retouched... hint: all of them.
